Knowing where to start, creating a support team to help you navigate all aspects of divorce, finding the right attorney or mediator, learning how to budget your support, and manage your finances after divorce – they’re all necessary components for a positive outcome post-divorce.
After 25 years in the financial industry, having raised five children and endured my own experience with divorce, I became a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst and trained mediator. I know firsthand what it’s like to feel all alone during divorce. It’s a scary process, a rocky road with a lot of unknowns. Throughout my divorce years ago, I remember thinking, “Where can I go to find out what I don’t know, to just get some information without starting the legal process? How will I know what to do next?” I couldn’t believe how hard it was to even find information!
I didn’t want anyone to go through this process alone, without the information so essential to possess during this life transition. This led me to found CSM Divorce Solutions. My mission was to provide a place where women could go and be heard; where they could release the emotions of this tumultuous time in their lives. Where they could understand their current financial portraits and feel empowered to start moving forward with a realistic plan for the future.
Now, there are more tools and better information available to help people through the divorce process. Understanding the need for people to have access to this information led me to partner with Karen Chellew, an experienced paralegal and business manager. Together, we formed Divorce U Solutions, LLC. Karen shares my passion for helping clients through the divorce process. We now provide all of the services I’d hoped to find when I was going through my divorce.
What’s most important is that you move forward with confidence in the decisions you make while transitioning into this next phase of your life. My motto is: “Make the rest of your life the best of your life.” I believe in living happily. Things may be different than you envisioned, but #UwillbeOK!
